Full Kitchen Respray Project – Oxted, Surrey
Project Overview
This case study showcases a full kitchen respray completed in Oxted, Surrey, carried out for a valued returning client we have worked with on multiple occasions over the years. As a trusted carpenter and specialist in handmade furniture, we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality, cost-effective solutions that breathe new life into existing spaces without the disruption of a full replacement.
The customer’s kitchen featured solid oak doors, approximately 15 years old. While structurally sound, the finish had become dated and no longer suited the modern aesthetic the client wanted to achieve. Rather than replacing the kitchen, we recommended a professional respray—an approach that delivers exceptional results at a fraction of the cost.
The Client’s Requirements
The client wanted a fresh, contemporary look while retaining the quality of their existing cabinetry. Their main priorities were:
-
A modern colour palette
-
Minimal disruption to daily life
-
A durable, long-lasting finish
-
A cost-effective alternative to full replacement
They opted for a two-tone design, with the kitchen island sprayed in a soft sage green, while the surrounding perimeter units were finished in a classic off-white. This combination added depth, contrast, and a timeless elegance to the space.
Our Process & Craftsmanship
All kitchen doors were carefully removed from the property and taken to our workshop. Each door was professionally sanded, re-prepared, primed, and resprayed using our trusted industrial-grade paint systems, which offer superior durability compared to standard household paints.
We can colour match any paint manufacturer, ensuring clients have complete freedom when choosing finishes. These specialist coatings are designed to withstand daily use, moisture, and cleaning—ideal for kitchens and other high-traffic areas.
The entire kitchen respray was completed in approximately five days, with minimal disruption to the household—significantly faster and less invasive than a full kitchen replacement.
Sustainable & Cost-Effective Solution
A kitchen respray is not only a smart financial decision but also a sustainable one. By reusing existing cabinetry, we reduce waste while achieving a high-end finish that rivals a brand-new kitchen.
In this case, the solid oak doors were in excellent condition, making them perfect candidates for respraying. However, for clients seeking a completely new look, we can also design, manufacture, and install new cupboard doors using our in-house CNC machine. This allows us to offer made to measure cabinets, made to measure wardrobes, and bespoke fitted wardrobes, all crafted to exact specifications.
